THE Big News!!!

My team and I have been baiting you for a few weeks about big news for Ruby Lane. Well today is the day to reveal that news to you! But first, let me give you a little history... a little over a month ago I was contacted by the legal team of an online store that felt my design name was in infringement upon their trademark. After much research, and a few consultations - it was determined that though this company really did not have the grounds to make such a demand, and furthermore they are missing an incredible opportunity for cross promotion - never the less Ruby Lane will be going away! Starting today, Ruby Lane Designs is now......

To celebrate I have created a mini kit available in both of my stores AND I have created an add on that I am giving away for a limited time on my NEW Facebook Fan page! Additionally I have released the 1st of many pieces to the Project 1440 Collection. Be sure to grab them while thye are on sale! I'm not done yet!!! I am having a Giveaway! It's Thursday (already?) and time for another Throwback with Ruby Lane. In trying to get a jump on any Father's Day projects, I've decided to feature a kit called Man 2 Man. Full of metal and masculinity, this kit will work for boys and men of all ages. The papers are perfectly textured and beautiful (can I say that about a manly kit?) and you'll love working with them. Add a few embellishments--from metal screws to plaid mats and notebook paper frames. Have some fun and tell your husband, son, father or any other man in your life just how much he means to you!

Funky Club volume 2 and a new CU product by Ruby Lane Designs

As you all know, Ruby Lane is one of the four designers participating in the Funky Club volume 2, along with fellow designers Girl Boy Girl Designs, Amanda Carlson and River-Rose.

With a subscription to The Funky Club - Volume Two, you receive sixteen mini-kits, one per week from January 5 through April 20, 2011. The contents of the mini-kits will be a surprise (much like a grab bag), but each mini-kit will contain at LEAST two papers and two elements. Additional items will vary from mini-to-mini and they may even include templates! All items in the mini-kits will be personal use products that will work in any photo editing program.

The subscription to The Funky Club - Volume Two costs just $10.00 - that's over $30.00 in savings off the individual selling price of the mini-kits. That averages out to about 62 cents per mini-kit!

The Funky Club Volume Two subscription will be available for purchase through April 20, 2011. After that date, the Funky Club Volume Two mini-kits will only be available as individual purchases at their regular selling price ($2.50-$3.50 each).

HOW THE SUBSCRIPTION WORKS

When you purchase The Funky Club - Volume Two - Subscription, you will receive download links to all of The Funky Club Volume Two mini-kits currently released to-date. Please note that the previously released Funky Club Volume One mini-kits are NOT included in the Funky Club Volume Two Subscription. Funky Playground Design's customer service department will activate your subscription within 72 hours (excluding weekends/holidays) and send you an email confirmation. After your subscription is active, it is your responsibility to login to the store each of the remaining weeks using the same username and password with which you purchased the subscription. Once you are logged in, the prices on The Funky Club mini-kits will show as $0.00. Simply place the mini-kit in your cart and check out to receive your download link. Good morning!

We have a lot to cover today, so let's get right to it!

The newest kit by Ruby Lane to hit the store - and remember that she is now an exclusive designer at Funky Playground Designs - is Merry&Bright:

I just finished playing with this kit - and oh.my.God! The colors are so fun and lively and yes, Christmasy, but in a non traditional way - in spite of all the snowflake elements this would be a perfect Christmas kit for warmer places or to design those Christmas cards that have beach or Summer vacation pictures...which are always hard to find. But even if you live in a cold, cold place this is the kit for you! Snowflake papers and snowflake scatter and snowflakes abound. Mix them up with the incredibly cute Christmas trees (three of them!), the ribbons and bows and strings and the string of Christmas lights and you are all ready for Santa! It also includes a gorgeous snowman - cute as can be! - and a mitten in bright blue. Soft and Tweet by Ruby Lane and a freebie

Good morning!

Ruby Lane released yesterday at Funky Playground Designs her new kit Soft and Tweet:

Oh my! Look at those colors!!!! Such a welcome deviation from all the fall kits we are seeing over and over again these days! Soft greens...soft blues...soft yellows...touches of brown and cream...so incredibly sweet!

I love those papers...I love the variety and the textures...I love the patterns and the colors...why can't everything in life be in these same shades? The world would be a much more peaceful place! Just looking at this preview everything seems to slow down and be at ease...

The elements, as always in Ruby Lane's kits, are just incredibly beautiful. I am in love with that big creamy yellowish heart with the green border...and with the birdie standing on that leaf...and the nest with the robin's eggs...and the paisley accent...and the birdcage...and the swirls and ribbons...the flowers and frames...the brackets (I love love love brackets!) and the ladder...the sweet wordart, and finally the alpha - the sweetest alpha in digiland.

New kit SERENDIPITY and a cluster frame freebie

Serendipity - noun. 1. an aptitude for making a fortunate discovery while looking for something unrelated by accident. 2. Ruby Lane's latest and greatest digital scrapping kit.

This kit embraces you. It is as comforting as a warm blanket on a rainy winter day. It is soft and feminine - without being girly - and dramatic at the same time. The peaches and greens and soft yellows stand out against the blacks, grays and creams:

The elements are absolutely delightful - I just LOVE the soft peach bow, it immediately caught my attention. There is a beautiful skinny branch with lots of small shoots that end in delicate swirls; there is another branch, full of leaves, with the most fantastic natural shape. The flowers are soft and feminine: three are made of fabric, and the paper tulip has a very delicate peach pattern. There is also a dramatic black chipboard flower that makes a great accent!

Another of my favorite elements is a leather string with a bow - this is something you don't see a lot of in kits. There are also two green ribbons, a yellow button with a ribbon tie, two patterned flairs, a gorgeous two-layer heart, two chipboard word art, and two journal tags. Here is the elements preview:

The kit also includes a whooping 14 papers. Six of them are solids, but they are not your normal, run-of-the-mill solids - these papers have texture, and color variations, and character: gray, brown, 2 in different tones of peach, 2 yellow and a gorgeous green.

And now the patterned papers: the first one is a brown and gray damask that is incredibly luxurious and dramatic. Next comes a cream paper with polka dots in all the colors of the kit that is so beautiful - this is a paper you will use over and over and over again. The polka dots are followed by a soft plaid with peach and gray and yellow and a touch of green. Another cream paper with a green lattice pattern that I want as a fabric for the chairs in my sunroom - it is that beautiful. A gray and white houndstooth pattern that goes beautifully with the soft solid papers. Then comes a beautiful green paper with the cutest little white flowers with black centers. And last, but certainly not least, a gorgeous geometrical pattern in grays, peaches and greens on a creamy background. Here is the preview of the papers:

I LEAF YOU - a new fall kit by Ruby Lane

I love the crisp autumn air! I love the smells, the colors and the light of fall! And I am absolutely in love with Ruby Lane’s new fall kit “I LEAF YOU”:

Let’s take a closer look. First, the papers…oh the papers! The oranges and browns and garnets with a touch of green and gold and creams… Did you notice the texture in those papers? The patterns? The variety? I can’t wait to get my hands on those papers!

And now the elements – look closely at that quilted pumpkin! Look at the detail work in that pumpkin. I think I am in love with that pumpkin! The leaf and flower elements complement the papers exquisitely, and add a touch of the outdoors to your layouts. You can almost smell the woods! There are three frames (a rectangular, a circular and a square frame) included in this kit. They are so rustic and beautiful! They go great with accents of the lovely ribbons and bows, the bit of yarn and the organic strings, the bit of floss with beads, and the journaling tag and tape. There is even a bit of netting and a nest! Oh the possibilities!

Last, but not least, and to complete it all, the alpha set and word art. The alpha set works great either for titles or as a monogram or initial letter. All in all, a phenomenal kit that you will definitely want to add to your stash!

So don’t walk – run to get it at either Scrappity-Doo-Dah or Funky Playground Designs and start creating!
